Sowing Media:
Lightly fertilized peat, pH 6,0

Sowing:
In plug trays using 3-4 seeds per cell. After sowing, water the trays and move to a cool area at 6-8 ˇăC. After a week the trays are placed in a growing chamber at 18-20 ˇăC. After germination the temperature should be maintained at 15-18 ˇăC.

Potting:
Approx. 6-7 weeks from sowing the plugs are ready to be potted. It is important, that they are not kept in the trays for too long, as this will result in uneven plants and delay the crop. The plugs are potted in 10-11 cm pots.

Growing on:
To avoid soil-borne fungi it is important that the outdoor beds are well drained. To avoid fungus problems on the foliage, it is important to space the plants on time. Fungus problems on the foliage create wilt problems at the basal part of the plant.

Autumn Sales:
For autumn sales plugs should be potted aprox. week 25-27. 7-8 weeks after potting the plants have green buds and are ready for sale.

Spring Sales:
For spring sales plugs should be potted in week 30-32. For early sales the plants can be overwintered in pots, preferable in a frost-free greenhouse. If the plants should be overwintered outdoor, they need protection against frost and drying, to avoid loss of plants.
